Sn-ShieldTM is 1008 low carbon steel sheet that is electroplated with Tin. For most commercial shielding applications, the 1008 steel sheet is .010” thick Previously, an enclosure made of copper sheet with all seams fully soldered together was the only option if a lifetime warranty on the performance was desired. Now, this same guaranteed Lifetime performance can be had at a substantially reduced price - with enhanced magnetic field performance. The tin plating offers a high surface conductivity, even higher than copper. The steel sheet adds a much higher resistance to physical damage and improved magnetic field attenuation.
